This buying guide for Strollers will help you buy and keep the right Stroller for you. The decision is important for your baby and you and there is a huge choice of Strollers available. Basically don’t panic as long as you don’t jump at the first thing you see then you should get the right Stroller for your family. Most of the larger manufactures (Bugaboo, Maclaren, Stokke, Graco etc) have a number of different Strollers that suit different needs, make sure you know what you want before choosing.

1. Do think about size and weight
Your family is different to mine and everyone else’s so you need to think about what is best for you. Create a list of all the places you go now (and will go if you are a new family) and work out how you would use the Stroller. If you need to be taking the Stroller in and out of a car often then you will need something lightweight (these are usually under 20 pounds in weight). Remember in general these lightweight Strollers can’t be used with small infants.

2. Do think about weather conditions
It won’t always be sunny and warm when you need to go out so make sure your chosen Stroller has good weather protection. All Strollers come with some level of protection but try it out before you buy – if you find it takes over 3 mins to put on then you may be in for a miserable time and wet children are no fun at all!

3. Do think about re-sale
You won’t need the Stroller for ever (although it might feel like it sometimes) so think about how well your selected Stroller will sell. Have a look at eBay and other auction sites to see how well your selected Stroller sells in the second hand market.

4. Don’t just go for the funky features
To differentiate themselves most Stroller manufacturers add some unique features. These can be attractive (especially if you are the Father) but think about how much you are going to use them and what are the downsides. Features like raising the child up high are nice but they can add a lot of weight.
